Ayashi No Ceres (妖しのセレス) (English "Ceres, Celestial Legend") is an anime and manga by Watase Yuu.

Characters
- Aya Mikage (御景妖)
Aya is a 16 year old girl who loves singing and being in the spotlight. She finds out on her 16th birthday that she is the reincarnation of the Tennyo Ceres. This turns her life upside down as her family begins to hunt her. She falls in love with a mysterious man named Tooya, who comes and goes at strange times.
- Aki Mikage (御景明)
Aki is Ayas twin brother and the reincarnation of the head of the Mikage family. Aki’s random personality transformations between himself and Mikage cause some very strange behaviors to surface. He is obsessed with Ceres and keeping her on earth and with him, and also is confused about what is going on around him.
- Tooya (十夜)
Tooya is named because he grew from a boy to a man in 10 nights. The literal translation of his name means “ten-night”. His origins are a mystery and he is employed by the Mikage family, he was implanted with fake memories at one point by one of Aya’s cousins.
- Suzumi Aogiri (梧納涼)
Suzumi is also a descendent of a tennyo. She married Yuuhi’s brother, but was widowed when an accident claimed his life. Suzumi now takes care of Yuuhi. She senses that Aya is a descendent of a tennyo and is in danger and sends Yuuhi to rescue her.
- Yuuhi Aogiri (梧雄飛)
Yuuhi is the brother in law of Suzumi. He was bound by magic to protect Aya by Suzumi. He lives with Suzumi, mostly because he does not get along with his other brothers or his father. Its also found out that Yuuhi is in love with Aya.
- Ceres (セレス) and Mikage
Ceres is the tennyo that mothered the Mikage clan. She descended from heaven and took off her harogomo, or featherd coat, to bathe and it was stolen by Mikage. When their village was attacked Mikage found himself unable to stand up to the men and became disheartened. So Ceres gave Mikage the power to defend himself and their family from anyone. This corrupted Mikage and he kept Ceres as a prisoner, hiding her harogomo so she may never leave him. Ceres keeps being reincarnated, along with Mikage, in twins born every generation. Usually the family will make the male twin the head of the clan, and kill the female twin. Ceres is on a quest to find her harogomo and return to heaven, and will reveal herself in Aya’s body whenever Aya becomes threatened or emotional. The only proven way to return Aya to her body is when Yuuhi kisses her.
