Chobits (ちょびっツ,Chobitsu) is an anime series from Clamp about an 18-year-old boy named Hideki Motosuwa who goes
to Tokyo for cram school, but ends up finding a broken persocom (personal computer) instead (something he normally couldn't afford). Hideki then names her Chii, after the only thing she can say, but later on, he starts to figure out that Chii may be one of the most powerful persocoms there is.

Plot
Episode 1
Hideki is rejected from college and leaves his home to go study in Tokyo for college. When he arrives, he sees a persocom for the first time, but he can't afford one. Embarassing himself in front the building manager, he settles into his new apartment. He meets his neighbor, Shinbo, who owns a miniature persocom named Sumomo. Walking home, Hideki finds a persocom in the trash. While taking it home, he loses the programming disc. After turning it on, the only thing it can do is say "chi". His attempt to keep Chi a secret fails miserably.
Episode 2
Shinbo finds Chi and begins to help Hideki figure out what's wrong with his persocom. After Sumomo shorts out in an attempt, Shinbo sends Hideki to a large mansion to meet a more knowledgeable expert. The young Minoru's maids fail, but his personal main Yuzuki offers to try. Chi, who appears to be running without an OS, has a special data protection that causes all interfaces with her to crash. Minoru suggests she's a Chobits, super-persocoms who can move without programs. They find she can be taught whatever she needs to know. Finally, Minoru warns him not to fall in love. Chi gets her name and clothes.
Episode 3
Hideki teaches Chi a few new words before he and Shinbo start class. He meets his new teacher and starts day dreaming about her immediately. After class, Hideki looks for a job. After many rejections, he finds himself working for a pub.
