Hanatarou is a member of the fourth squad which is responsible for healing the other gaurd squads. He is very quiet and easy going. Hanatarou strikes up a friendship with Rukia while she is a prisoner. Through a series of events, Hanatarou helps Ichigo and Ganju through the sewer system of the Soul Society in order to attempt to rescue Rukia. Later on in the Bounto arc, Hanatarou goes to the real world and takes a job at a Convience Store.
