Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha

Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha, also known as Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha, is about a young girl, Nanoha, whom one night has a mysterious dream were a strange voice called to her. While walking to school with two of her friends, they take a different path than usual, finding an injured ferret. They then take the ferret to the vet, and leave for school. During the night, Nanoha feels the strange voice from her dream calling her, leading her back to the ferret she had found that morning. The ferret then revels that it can talk, and tells Nanoha that she must help him regain the lost jewel seed pieces of a very powerful item, telling her the command to use the Burning Heart, a small marble-like jewel that was around the ferret's neck. With the Burning Heart, she seals the jewel seed, creating herself a costume and a large staff, of which she learns to use through combat against the Jewel Seeds, which can posses things and people, creating havoc where ever they land. But, alas, this is only the beginning.

Nanoha is the main character in the Lyrical Series. She is a quick learner in the magical arts and exceeds expectations consistently throughout the series. Nanoha is not a fighter though, throughout first season she always wanted to befriend Fate Testarossa or anyone in the Lyrical Series.

Fate Testarossa is the second main character from the Nanoha Series. Fate is a clone copy from her dead older sister Alicia Testarossa. Fate has a Familiar named Arf, though Fate was only used by her mother Precia Testarossa. Precia was her ruthless mother that always would beat Fate with a whip. Fate is a sweet loving girl but in the Lyrical manga she has been known for her pervert ways.
