Keiichi is a good person with a good heart. He is nice to everyone regardless of how they treat him or what they do. He is very forgiving of Skuld and Urd; despite the amount of trouble and grief they cause him. When Skuld bashes him on the head, he forgives her, even every time Skuld tells Keiichi that she hates him, he forgives her and just excuses it as her being young. After Urd gives him the potion where he cannot control his actions, causing him to profess a false love to Sayoko, he forgives her and allows her to live with them. Celestin posses his body, and all he asked for was the power to help [[Belldandy]] in whatever she believed in. He does not wish anyone harm no matter what they do. | Keiichi is a good person with a good heart. He is nice to everyone regardless of how they treat him or what they do. Simply put, Keiichi loves Belldandy. Although he is not always the greatest at showing it or saying it, he loves her. With all the goddesses and demons after him, he stays true to her. They even passed the ultimate test at the Gate of Judgement in the movie. They were able to pass through to the other side, proving how pure and true the love they had for eachother was. It is shown in the movie that Keiichi tried to pass through with Morgan the Fairy once, but they were separated. | Simply put, Keiichi loves Belldandy. Story
Keiichi lived in an all men’s dorm at Nekomi Tech. He was made to stay at the dorm alone to take messages for the other men who lived there while they were out. While taking messages he realized that he was very hungry and decided to order take out, but as he called and called no places were open, or if they were they didn’t deliver that early. In his frustration he began dialing random numbers and suddenly reached the Goddess Help line. Before he could realize what he did Belldandy popped out of the mirror behind him. Keiichi naturally thought this was a joke, because he was short and had little luck with women, and didn’t believe Belldandy. He was granted one wish, that wish being that Belldandy would stay with him forever. Soon his sepmai and the other men from the dorm came home, unfortunately the rules of the dorm state that no women are allowed, and the two of them are thrown out. Thus the adventure begins.
In the short 5-episode OVA anime, Keiichi runs into Belldandy’s two sisters, Urd and Skuld. Urd shows up, revealing herself in a pornographic video Keiichi believed was sent to him by his sempai. Urd begins to play cupid and use every underhanded trick she can think of to get Belldandy and Keiichi together. Every one of them backfiring in her face. She tried to have them go rowing together in the ocean, but when Sayoko’s boat flips over their raft, Keiichi almost drowns (he does not know how to swim). Next she gives Keiichi a “love potion” and he will fall in love with the first person he sees, which happens to be Sayoko who comes knocking on his door to apologize for what happened earlier. Although this seems mostly destructive to Keiichi and Belldandy’s relationship it does lead to their very first kiss.
Then along comes Skuld, a younger sister of Belldandy who hates Keiichi and blames him for taking her sister away from him. She does everything she can to drive them apart initially, along with telling Keiichi at every chance how much she hates him. Arriving while Keiichi is in the bath, their first meeting results in her bashing him on the head with her hammer. She even tweaks the opposing teams bike to make Keiichi lose, thinking that this will convince Belldandy to leave him and return to heaven. Eventually Skuld realizes that Keiichi makes Belldandy happy, and that they belong together, but still harbors a resentment towards him.It turns out in the end that Belldandy and Keiichi had met in childhood. Keiichi unaware of her status, made Belldandy promise to be there the next day so that he could give her a present. When she made the promise she was punished and was ordered to erase his memory. Keiichi, seeing how much pain this was causing Belldandy, promised to remember her if they would ever meet again and volunteered to have his memory erased. When they did meet again, he didn’t remember her at first and this caused a bug portal to open between them. He did remember eventually and worked several jobs to buy a very expensive ring for Belldandy, similar to the ring he was going to give her as a child. Defying the Lord himself Keiichi tries to push through the gate of summoning to give Belldandy the ring, an explosion from the Ultimate Magic Circle causes not only the gate to disappear but also Keiichi himself to regress into his own subconscious. Risking her own safety Belldandy goes into his mind to bring him out. With the memories released and the cause of the portal solved, the Lord allows the contract to continue and Belldandy to stay with Keiichi.
In the movie Keiichi is torn from his love when Celestin, Belldandy’s old mentor, shows up and infects her with a virus. Even with her memory gone Keiichi sticks by Belldandy, no matter how much it pains him that she doesn’t remember who he is. Keiichi himself is pursued by Morgan the Fairy. He continuously turns down her advances because of his unbridled love for Belldandy. Again in the movie, as with the OVA anime, Keiichi defies heaven and the Lord by using Celestin’s powers to aid Belldandy in overcoming the Gungir program that would destroy Earth and Celestin. He even states that no matter what he will always aid Belldandy in whatever she believes in, even if it defies Heaven itself.
In the manga Keiichi is pursued by not only Belldandy. Hilde wants a kiss from him, Peorth harbors a secret crush for him, and Gate also has a large affection for Keiichi. Although the only person who Keiichi has love for is Belldandy.
