Plot summary
One day, Sakura Kinomoto, a 12-year old girl found a mysterious book from her father's library. As she takes the book, she unwittingly unseals it and sends dozens of cards flying out and scattering themselves all over town. There she also meets Keruberus (later called by Sakura as Kero-chan), the guardian of the cards which she then learned to be the magical Clow Cards created by the great wizard Clow Reed.
Though unwilling at first and more or less helped by Kero-chan's tidbits of information, Sakura as Card Captor, together with her best friend Tomoyo Daidouji, who has a habit of making Sakura (and at times also Kero-chan) wear strange costumes while filming her captures of the cards, and Syaoran Li who is a rival card captor and direct descendant of Clow Reed himself, gathers the scattered cards which bring about anything between silly mischiefs to destructive menaces around the once quiet town of Tomoeda.
