Kazuma Sohma is supposing good at martial arts,(although he doesn't look it) who owns a dojo and is considered to be Kyo's father. He taught a lot of Sohmas including Yuki, Kagura, and Hatsuharu. He looks young but he is actually "almost 40". He is bad at cooking and he doesn't have steady hands. He is so bad that he can't even prepare tea. He has a assistant named Kunimitsu Tomoda.
Kazuma was very cautious around his grandfather because he was cursed with the spirit of the cat. He kept his distance for a long time and when his grandfather offered him candy, he refused it. In order to make changes in his life, he decided to take care of Kyo after his mother died from suicide. He took off Kyo's beads to show Tohru his true form. Eventually when Isuzu got hospitalized, Kazuma decided to take her in. In the end, Saki Hanajima works at Kazuma's dojo and they are in a relationship.
