- | One day, Sakura Kinomoto, a 12-year old girl found a mysterious book from her father's library. As she takes the book, she unwittingly unseals it and sends dozens of cards flying out and scattering themselves all over town. There she also meets Keruberus (later called by Sakura as Kero-chan), the guardian of the cards which she then learned to be the magical Clow Cards created by the great wizard Clow Reed. | + | Cardcaptor Sakura follows the story of Sakura KINOMOTO, your average ten year old fourth-grader, after she opens a mysterious book she finds in her father's storage titled The Clow and accidentally releases all the Clow Cards inside to run amok in the district of Tomoeda. - | Though unwilling at first and more or less helped by Kero-chan's tidbits of information, Sakura as Card Captor, together with her best friend Tomoyo Daidouji, who has a habit of making Sakura (and at times also Kero-chan) wear strange costumes while filming her captures of the cards, and Syaoran Li who is a rival card captor and direct descendant of Clow Reed himself, gathers the scattered cards which bring about anything between silly mischiefs to destructive menaces around the once quiet town of Tomoeda. | + | The anime ran for three seasons, with two story arcs. The first, The Clow Card Arc, had Sakura running all around Tomoeda in search of all the released Clow Cards and transforming them back to their true form. Eriol had Sakura convert all the Clow Cards into Sakura Cards because since their creator Clow was already dead, it would have only been a matter of time before the cards, who were drawing their power from the remnants of Clow's magic, died themselves. Transforming them all into Sakura Cards gave them a new source of power and solved the problem. The arc ran for 24 episodes before finally concluding with the defeat of Eriol by Sakura and her Sakura Cards. The final episode, though not really being that direct about it, had Sakura confessing (at least to herself) her love for Syaoran after he had left for Hong Kong. This was brought on because a few days earlier, Syaoran confessed his love for her. | ||
